3/8 to 5/8 black with yellow bands. Two wings. Six legs.

Most yellow jacket nests are located underground. Most commonly they are disturbed by a lawnmower or someone steping on the nesting area.

How do they affect me?

A yellow jacket sting is very powerful. Each one has the ability to sting multiple times. This is dangerous for small children and people who allergic. Multiple stings, for some, can become life threatening.

What should I do?

Stay away from the nesting area. Yellow jackets are an insect covered by our Home Pest Prevention program. We will come out and treat and remove the nest from your property.
