Carpenter Bees

They are attracted to moist wood. It’s common to see holes where there is bee activity.

How do they affect me?

They will hollow wood out. Carpenter bees do not eat wood they hollow it out, creating a saw dust like material called frass. For this is it considered a wood destroying organism.

What can I do?

Carpenter bees are covered under our Home Pest Prevention program. Eliminating any moist wood where the bees are present is a step. Usually it’s difficult to remove this type of wood because it is home siding or shingles.
