Groundhog’s Prediction for Early Spring Comes with a Cost
This year’s Groundhog Day prediction for an early spring has made most people very happy.According to the famed groundhog Punxsutawney Phil’s forecast, warmer days are expected to arrive in the next few weeks. But, beware — early spring can come at a cost, including mistimed migrations and early pest outbreaks.
As you conjure up images of vibrant hues in a blooming backyard, laughter echoing from your children playing, and the enticing aroma of barbecue filling the air, it’s crucial to be mindful of an unseen menace lurking in the tall grass amidst the joyous atmosphere – Ticks!
A recent survey conducted by the JP McHale Research Team found that 39 percent of those interviewed report ticks as their biggest pest concern. And, for good reason! According to the CDC, there are approximately 30,000 cases of Lyme Disease each year; Lyme-carrying ticks have spread tohalf of all U.S. counties. It has become particularly important now to be mindful of the increased presence of ticks and take all necessary precautions.
JP McHale to the Rescue!
JP McHale will introduce a new LymeGuard+Service to offer increased protection for our new and existing clients, right in time for the earlier spring season. A LymeShield station is placed on the ecotone (tree line where your property meets the woods) or the furthest point of your property away from your home! LymeShield works as a feeder that gives mice access to Lyme vaccine pellets based on a programmable schedule. This is a proven scientific approach that will result in fewer ticks that can infect humans with a tick-borne illness because we are eliminating Lyme disease in the majority of mice. Partnered with our Tick & Mosquito prevention service, your property will be pest and Lyme-disease-free this spring!
