Recession Blues: Keep Your Pest Control Company?

We are in hard times right now, and many of us are looking to cut back on daily, monthly and yearly expenses weather in be the electricity bill, phone bill, and even pest control contracts.

Many consider pest control to be a “luxury” service. I would like to inform these people that they are wrong, very wrong. We understand that many people are running into cash issues and cannot afford many of the things they once enjoyed. Don’t skimp out on your pest control contracts.

Why can’t I do it myself?

Sure. It won’t nearly be as effective or safe. Pest control companies know that there are children and pests in homes, and factor that in to their treatment methods.

Rodents can eat right though pipes into your dishwasher and severely damage them, costing you must more to repair the dishwasher, then to keep you pest control contract. Bait stations are placed around a home, in child and pet resistant boxes to ensure no one but rodents get into the bait station and consume the bait.

Wasp Nests can be very dangerous to spray or remove with out protective gear. Most pest management companies have bee suits to remove wasp and bee nests. After they remove the nest, proper treatment of the area will ensure that when the technician leaves, they don’t build a new nest.

Ants and Roaches have many over the counter remedies that claim to kill, will appear to work. These products when applied to ants or roaches will kill them on the spot. They will not take bait back to the colony or infestation, to kill the rest of the population. Pest control companies using baiting methods to ensure that the ants and roaches will carry back to the colony and eliminate everything.

Bed Bugs are some of the hardest pests to kill. They spread fast, and suck human blood for food. The over the counter remedies are only available in select states, and are dangerous. Pest control companies usually offer free inspections, and possible K-9 dog inspections to make sure that you in-fact have bed bugs.

In most cases, pest control companies spot-treat to ensure the lowest amount of pesticide usage, are monitored and regulated by either, the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Environmental Protection or Conservation. These are just a few reasons to keep your pest control contracts. Canceling, then renewing your contracts will be more expensive. Make the right decision.
