New York’s Government is stepping in on the Bed Bug problem
Posted on July 28, 2010 with 2 Comments
Today The Wall Street Journal published an article that talks about the government’s approach to the growing bed bug problem in New York. The government’s previous stance on the matter was to left individuals and businesses handle it on their own, but now they feel they should step in and try to help. In April the city’s Bed Bug Advisory Board submitted a complaint to the state and the state is finally going to respond. One of the ideas brought up was to make a website dedicated to bed bug information and prevention. The website could “serve as a central clearinghouse for information for different audience”.
The state also wants to stress bed bug education to be brought up in the classrooms. Anywhere from elementary schools to colleges could be taught how to identify and prevent bed bugs. If a home has bed bugs there is a good chance the children can spread them if they do not realize that they have them. If your house or business has a bed bug problem, JP McHale can help. This could be an interesting trait in the increasing bed bug control issues i.e. the potential involvment of Authorities rather than private contractors.
I’ve been reading your blog for sometime now as its a great source on pest control news and stories- i’ve posted a page on our site about it http://www.fenlandenvironmental.co.uk/jp-mchale-pest-management.html
If their is any chance of a link from your blog roll to a UK-based company that would be great
