A few days ago, Eyewitness News reported that there has been 30 pools tested positive in Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island so far this year. That is a big number! On July 5th it was reported that a 66-year-old woman from Long Island had contracted the West Nile Virus.
The symptoms included headache, weakness, fever, and blurry vision. She is now recovering at an upstate estate. She is the only reported human thus far to have been infected but the mosquito season is not over yet. Make sure you protect yourself and stay mosquito free this summer!
