Healthy diet is true for humans…and cockroaches?

Patricia Moore of the University of Exeter has been studying cockroaches and their behavior over the last few years. She wanted to see how cockroaches would develop with different diets. Cockroaches were raised initially on the same diet. Once these cockroaches had nymphs, the cockroaches were separated into two groups, and were continued on a healthy diet. Once these nymphs turned into adults, they were given two different diets, one health, and one unhealthy. These cockroaches were not limited to the amount they were given, just the type of food they were fed.

Sure enough, it was proven that the cockroaches on the bad diet were found to develop slower and stored excess fat. The cockroaches fed healthy food grew normal.

This study proves that health development is essential for many different walks of life, from cockroaches to humans.
