A New Jersey municipal building is closed because of a bed bug infestation. Officials in Brick Township say exterminators are being brought in and the complex will be closed until further notice. Township administrator Scott Pezarras told the Asbury Park Press that bed bugs were first found a month ago in a jail cell at the police department, also housed at the municipal building. He says they showed up in the human resources office early this week, then the tax collector’s office Thursday. Police have shifted their operations to a mobile command unit while pest control experts do their job.
